Jihometsky’s 14° tmavy lezak (dark lager) has a rich, dark brown, almost black color. It begins with an herbal aroma, and a hint of cola. Unlike many dark beers, this lager doesn’t have any taste of coffee or chocolate. This is an herbal beer, specifically with a taste of anise. There’s also a sweeter, tangy taste to it’s body, with strong citrus/orange tones, followed by a nice hoppy finish. For 14°, you’d never guess how strong it is based on taste. This beer is brewed at Jihometsky Pivovar, in Prague.
