Tidings of good cheer and beer are starting to echo through the streets of Prague. Already the first Christmas markets have appeared, filled with the usual wooden goods, hot wine, and candied almonds.
Beer centric events this month begin with a Prague beer festival, our cozy tastings and tours, and Brno’s pubs sound like they’ll be full of Christmas cheer, and better beer than the proverbial Starobrno.
Starting this Friday, November 30th, and lasting through Saturday December 1st, the Pražský Beer Festival is held in the Pragovce area, on Kolbenova street in the district of Vysocany. Over 30 breweries will be present, including one of our favorite microbreweries, Pivovar Zhůřák. The event will be indoors, and food stands are promised. Entrance is 100 czk and can be bought in advance via Ticketstream or at the door. Once inside, you’ll pay for beers using tokens, and 1 token is 20 czk. More info is on their Facebook page.
November 30th-December 1st

Complete with heated igloos (?), fireplaces, 20 restaurants and over 50 designers selling their wares, their aim is to be a market for locals who want something more than the ubiquitous hot wine and trdelník.
