Few pubs in Prague serve such great beer, alongside affordable Czech cuisine, in an unique atmosphere. With unfiltered Uneticky Pivo 12° on tap, as well as Pilsner Urquell and a few types of Staropramen (including 'tankovna'), thirsty visitors come to this traditional pub for quality, fresh Czech beer.
We specifically ventured to U Slamniku for their Uneticky, and were not disappointed. As with many good Czech pubs, the taps here have served a customers for years and years, and the quality of beer here is something remarkable. Patrons of U Slamniku vary in all shapes and sizes, from older men, to younger women, and even a few families. For a good Uneticky, U Slamniku is a great experience. Nostalgic and homey, U Slamniku, somehow manages to give visitors the feeling that you’re drinking in the living room of a charmingly dilapidated chateau.
This Prague 6 pub is divided into 2 rooms, the first room being louder and having a traditional pub feel. The second room, with its high decorated ceilings and an old ‘fireplace’, feels like something in an well-worn country mansion. Their menu is not only large, but has a unique range of Czech dishes, including 5 different kinds of schnitzels, 3 different kinds of rabbit, and all sorts of Czech cheeses and snacks to go with your beer. For warm summer days, there’s an outdoor garden, and for sports fans, their second room has a large TV. Service is not only genuinely friendly, but quick and efficient. Take the A (green line) to metro station Hradčanska, and it’s about a 15 minute walk.
